Wii Fit Bundle

January 29, 2009

Is this adapter the same as the official SD adapter made by Nintendo? Function wise it is the same, just the design is different. It is however unlicensed and not supported by Nintendo. It’s all speculation right now, outside of Gamecube memory cards, and small onboard flash memory. It’s rumored that Nintendo is going to again support Secure Digital (SD) technology, however this time more seriously. To get your game console network access you’ll need to register your game console with us. We will need the following information from you: The easiest way to register is by using the Device Registration Page.

What is the file size of a full DS game? The file size of a full DS game depends on how big the game is. But normally games are around 16 MB to 30 MB.Students may bring these items to TSD, however, TSD is not responsible for these items if an item is lost or stolen. Each dorm room has a closet that can be locked and anything of value should be kept locked in the closet.

How can I submit my game idea? Nintendo has some of the most devoted, enthusiastic fans of any game developer. Each week, we receive hundreds of questions and suggestions about our games and systems. While we would love to use ideas from fans to develop actual products, due to the volume of requests we receive and the resources it would take to process them, we do not accept unsolicited game or product ideas.Qmotions intends to support all major game consoles.

Question: What is the “Nintendo Wii”? Answer: The Nintendo Wii (as in “we”), formerly codenamed Revolution, is the successor to the GameCube. The picture that you are seeing is actually a model. It will actually be the size of three DVD cases stack together. The gray is part you see at the bottom is actually the “stand” in which you put the Wii on when you want to put it in vertical stand. It can still be played horizontal. According to Nintendo, the price will be lower than their competitors (most likely under $300 U.S.).Hard to say. Historically Nintendo has always been conservative about it’s machines’ capabilities, while both Sony and Microsoft are the complete opposite and enjoy bragging. If you recall, Nintendo frequently downplayed the power of the Gamecube yet it is indeed more capable than the PS2 and on par with the Xbox. Nintendo has said the Revolution will be 4 times as powerful as the Gamecube, which is honestly really hard to gather a conclusion from.

Can I play Super Nintendo games on my N-Gage? Yes and No. Vampent vSun is the only existing emulator for Super Nintendo and the current version manages barely any game with sound. You also have to pay as the platform is emulated. My advice: Wait. The controllers can use Alkaline or Lithium-Ion batteries – at present there is no functionality for a rechargeable energy system. Digg – Del.icio.

Should I purchase a screen protector(s)? The use of screen protectors is not required, however if you would like to use one, we recommend using only licensed protectors. Licensed products always carry the Nintendo seal. The use of an unlicensed screen protector can reduce the touch screen’s effectiveness and visibility, making the system difficult to operate. In addition, attempting to remove an unlicensed screen protector can be difficult and can permanently damage the screen.Nintendo is very concerned with doing our part to help preserve the environment. We’re always researching new products and procedures to make our products and operations as environmental-friendly as possible. We actively promote the recycling of aluminum cans, plastic bottles, and glass in our corporate cafeterias.

The Clarke Belt

January 29, 2009

Chances are if you ask the average person if he or she has ever heard of Arthur C. Clarke they will respond with a glazed look in their eyes. But, if you then played the opening bars of Strausss Thus Spoke Zarathustra and mentioned Stanley Kubrick, you may actually get a flicker of recognition. If you spoke the famous line, Open the pod bay doors, HAL! you could well get a big smile and a definitive Right, right!

Such is the relative obscurity most science fiction writers, even writers as esteemed as Clarke, toil under. Although venerated within select circles, authors like Clarke, Philip K. Dick, Robert Heinlein, and Isaac Asimov, are seldom celebrated or recognized by the culture at large. Literary or even cultural obscurity is one thing, but to fail to recognize a scientific breakthrough is shameful.

The awareness of Clarke as a great writer is one thing, but his real, scientific contributions are another. Few people are aware of the fact he pioneered the concept upon which modern global satellite communication is based. Having served in the Royal Air Force from 1941 through 1946 as a radar instructor and technician, Clarke first proposed the idea of a satellite-based communications system in 1945. He proposed geostationary satellites could be used as telecommunication relays in a paper entitled Extra-Terrestrial Relays, which was published in Wireless World in 1945.

It is hard to fathom the profound affect his simple idea has had on our daily lives, especially with regards to GPS tracking systems. It is easy to take the technology that makes cellphones and instant driving directions possible for granted. By triangulating a receiver on a phone or GPS device, satellites can pinpoint our location and lead us, as it were, to the Promised Land. A bit much to ask of a cellphone? Perhaps.

What makes this idea so radical is that it born before the computer was little more than conjecture. He claimed the idea came from his experience with radar systems, wherein objects and their direction and trajectory can be accessed by the bounce effect of radar waves off metallic objects. GPS tracking systems and wireless telecommunications work on the same principle of deflected and directed waves, all triangulated by the sea of satellites orbiting the earth. A debt is owed to this bold visionary.

Credit Crunch Holidays by Motorhome

January 29, 2009

With the poor exchange rate of the pound sterling against the euro, British residents will get much less for their money in Europe unless the present situation improves. At the time of this press release, (December 16th 2008), we are seeing “parity” between the pound sterling and the euro for the first time ever.

As a result of this many British people will be considering not going abroad for their 2009 holiday unless the situation improves.

This is why a really smart move is to have a motorhome holiday in 2009. If the pound to euro exchange rate does not improve before the summer then a motorhome holiday in the United Kingdom makes good financial sense.

If the exchange rate (sterling/euro) should improve in the pound sterling’s favour then you could still take your already hired motorhome to Europe and make the most of getting more euros for your money. Countries such as Spain and also the former Eastern block countries such as Croatia have great cheap campsites and meals out are inexpensive.

Better petrol and diesel prices: It is worth noting that economic and political circumstances surrounding America and the Middle East have meant that fuel prices have stabilized during the autumn of 2008. Fuel prices are less expensive than they have been for a long time, a situation which looks likely to last into 2009 and a factor that is very important if you are considering a touring holiday.

Investing in the UK: If you do “holiday at home” in the UK you will be helping to keep small businesses in your own country afloat. You may be helping other people just like you to provide for their families. You will be making a “greener choice” too by not flying to your holiday destination.

When you hire your motorhome in the UK and you pay in pounds sterling, you are not affected by fluctuations in the European exchange rate.

Families love motorhome holidays: Children love camping holidays but sometimes Mums and Dads find the “under canvas” variety somewhat lacking in luxury!

Preventative Maintenance On Your Sports Car

January 29, 2009

After spending the money on a new sports car, it’s important to keep up with the preventative maintenance that can save you a lot of time, money and hassle in the future. Even newer models, with stronger and better engines, can malfunction and a smart driver should always take every necessary precaution to ensure that he or she gets safely from one place to another. Based on a sports car from BMW, one of the worlds leading car manufacturers, we’ve compiled a list of tips that can help keep your sports car looking new and running as great as the day you bought it.

1) Check the brakes, tires, oil and steering system to make sure that everything is in order before taking your sports car for a drive. If your car begins making unusual noises or moving in an unusual way, immediately take it to a mechanic to have it checked out. Better safe than sorry.

2) The ignition system is incredibly important to a car but is often overlooked. To prevent complications, have your mechanic check the entire system, especially the spark plugs, which act as a fairly good indicator of how the engine of your car is running. The system should be checked every 30,000 miles and make sure the spark plugs are replaced at least every 100,000 miles.

3) Distributor caps and rotors are made of plastic, which deteriorates easily over time, so it’s important to have them checked out regularly. Try doing this every time you get your oil changed, that way it’s easy to remember.

4) There are several filters in your car, both for oil and for fuel, that should be checked every 3,000 miles. Because they act as a guard against rust and other harmful objects, a bad or overused filter could disrupt the performance of your car.

5) You should keep track of your car’s mileage by calculating the amount of fuel purchased and the miles driven as shown on the odometer before and after fueling. Many newer model sports cars also have an automatic calculator that displays your cars mileage for you. If there is a sudden change in the number of miles your car can travel per gallon of gas, take your car to a mechanic immediately.

6) If, at any time, one of your cars sensor lights comes on, it’s important to pull over immediately, turn the car off and call for assistance. Though the problem could be small, there is a possibility that it might not be and you may need to have the vehicle towed to a mechanic.

The Bucket-Seat Wagon Endures

January 28, 2009

Gulp down your steins and pull up your lederhosen; its German car history time! Come, come now! Though we have a wealth of fine German cars to choose from, like the beloved Beetle or the finely crafted Mercedes, todays lesson will focus on a particular model and make that rarely see the light of the road. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the Volkswagen Kubelwagen! The what? you say. Translated, it means the bucket-seat car. Whats that, crickets chirping? Granted, its not an exciting name, so lets stick with Kubelwagen.

The non-starter of name aside, the Kubelwagen was one of the longest produced cars in German automotive history. Designed by Ferdinand Porsche himself ” at the request of the Nazi government ” the car was to become to the Germany army what the jeep was to the Allied forces. The Kubelwagen was the all-purpose, all-terrain vehicle, capable of transporting troops across extended distances. Mind you, it was all-terrain without having to stoop to the boorish 4X4 drive train the jeep was equipped with.

Though the initial prototypes and the 1934 version of the Kubelwagen were heavily based on the Beetle body chassis, the 1939 refurbishments dramatically changed the body style (to make it more angular) and increased its off-road capabilities, still without having to stoop to make them 4X4s. There is a debate as to whether or not the Kubelwagen was superior to American jeep. Though some sources, including the U.S. War Department Handbook on German Military Forces, concluded, The Volkswagen [Kubelwagen]is inferior in every way except in the comfort of its seating accommodations, it has been argued that, in fact, the Kubelwagen was easier to maintain, more durable, and more maneuverable than the jeep.

Long after the war the popularity of the Kubelwagen endured. Volkswagen released a variant in 1969 known as the Kurierwagen. It was marketed as The Thing in the United States, the Trekker in the United Kingdom, and The Safari in Mexico. This Kubelwagen variant enjoyed a long, lucrative run, helping resuscitate an ailing German automotive market. It was slowly phased out of the US market in 1975 as it began to fail to meet ever-stringent safety standards.

Currently, Kubelwagens, and their variants, fetch handsome prices as far as used cars for sale go. Prices can range anywhere from $3,000 for restorable units to $15,000 for cherry versions. According to the 2007 Barrett-Jackson Auction records, four Kurierwagens sold for over $20,000 each, with a 1973 model selling for $42,560! A lasting testament to the longevity of German engineering. So, there you have it ” a little ditty about the Kubelwagen, a little SUV doing the best it can.

Garage Floor Protection: The Options

January 28, 2009

So, you’ve got a home with a garage, and you’d like to improve it a bit. Sure, garages aren’t the most fancy rooms anyways, but you can always do better.

Perhaps the biggest thing you can improve about your garage is the floor. Garages, much of the time, have simple, plain, ugly concrete floors that act like a sponge for all sorts of spills, stains, cracks, and more. How can you deal with this issue?

Fortunately, there are many options on the out there for garage floor coatings. Most of these are quite easy to install by yourself, though professional help is often available. In this article, we will briefly look at each of the options, discussing the pros and cons of each one.

First, let’s look at mats. Garage floor mats are just simple vinyl mats designed to protect your floor from impacts and spills. These install by simply rolling them out over the floor and cutting them to fit. Unfortunately, they can also trap moisture underneath, which is one drawback.

The second option is tile coverings. These are just like the mats, except that they are segmented in interlocking tiles. These are even easier to install, and have the advantage of being able to be repaired more easily, since its just a matter of swapping out the tile.

The third option is epoxy. Applying an epoxy paint coating to your garage floor can really help extend its life. To do this, simply clean the floor, prime it, and spread the coating across the floor. It takes a while to cure, but once it is done, you have a floor that will completely lock out moisture. This is a very good option for many.

Obviously, there is not one right way to finish your garage floor. All these options are an excellent way to improve the utility of your garage while increasing the value of your home. All in all, a great home improvement project for anyone to take on.

Why I Love My Clunker

January 28, 2009

As a young teen, I used dream about what kind of car I would be driving one day. I don’t think I could have predicted that I would soon be getting around in a 1990 Honda Accord with over 200k miles in it. Yes, I own a beater, by any definition of the word.

Yes, I certainly have a beater. It is fairly reliable, working most of the time, but issues to crop up from time to time. I blow coolant hoses left and right, requiring seemingly simple yet annoying repairs to get working again. As I drive, the whole car shakes, rattles, and leaks liquid randomly.

Why do I love it so much then? Because it is extremely cheap! The way I look at it, the purpose of owning a car is for transportation. This car gets me around wherever I need to go. It has even survived a couple long distance road trips. In short, it does everything I need in a car.

Yes, my car does everything it needs, at a very low cost to me. I paid $1500 in cash for the car back when I was 16, and have been driving it for 6 years now. Even with repairs, thats just a couple hundred a year for all my transportation needs.

Of course, there is more to owning a car than just the cost of the car and repairs. You also have insurance to deal with. In my case, insurance is very cheap. I have the minimum amount of insurance required by law, which is quite inexpensive overall. This saves me even more money month after month.

Compare this to a new car. A newer car would cost me in payments, higher insurance, and more. While I would probably spend less in repairs, I still save a lot of money over time by keeping the clunker.

Of course, this isn’t going to work for everyone. I even wish for a better car at times, but when I think how much freedom I have in my finances because of the clunker, I smile a bit to myself and continue driving. Think about it, and you might just free up a lot of cash each month.

Compare Insurance

January 28, 2009

Insurance is a confusing business. Odd terminology, fine print and high pressure tactics may keep you from really researching and comparing your options. While quick insurance shopping may get you a policy, it probably wont get you the right insurance policy.

There are many types of insurance out there and countless policies offered for each insurance type. Educating yourself about how the insurance system works should be your first step before choosing a policy.

You may be surprised to learn that 65 percent of South Africans do not have any auto insurance at all. Considering the high risk of injury and death on South African roads, this is a shocking statistic.

Auto cover comes in three forms. Third party is the minimum coverage and protects you if you injure someone or damage someone elses property in an auto accident. Third Party Fire and Theft includes cover provided under Third Party and adds protection for damage caused by fire, theft or attempted theft. Comprehensive coverage adds to this by providing protection for your vehicle in an accident that is your fault.

Judge against policies and quotes since auto cover premiums can be costly. Bargain with the insurance corporations for a better price and consider raised and high excesses security actions to lessen your premiums further.

Term life insurance is the least expensive option and provides cover for a specified amount of time or can be linked to specific debt obligations. Term life is beneficial for families that may have a large amount of debt that will be paid off by the end of the policys term.

Whole life insurance is permanent insurance that remains in effect as long as the premiums are up to date. The policy does not need to be renewed and the premiums remain the same throughout the life of the policy. It provides your beneficiaries a lump sum at your death regardless of when that occurs.

Universal life insurance cover is structured the same way as whole life in that it is permanent insurance with level premiums. In addition, it adds provides financial products such as a savings plan, investments and the ability to add a person to the policy. It is the most expensive life insurance option due to its flexibility.

If is a good idea to review your life insurance needs on a regular basis to make sure you are not over- or underinsured.

Your options for homeowners insurance have expanded thanks to the National Credit Act. Previously, borrowers had to purchase their cover from the bank that financed their loan. Now, you can shop and choose the cover that fits your needs and budget. Youll be required to cede the policy to your lender so that your policy can pay your bank directly.

No matter what type of insurance youre looking for, always remember that the cheapest policy is not always the best. A bicycle is cheaper than a car, but it cannot meet your transportation needs in the same way. You goal is to find an insurance policy that meets your coverage needs affordably.
