Hope For The Used Car Salesman In The Credit Crisis

October 25, 2008

by Mak

Who else is affected by the credit crunch? The local used car salesman. Given that people are having trouble obtaining loans from banks, even those with good credit, car sales are at a record low. Who can think of buying a new car in the current crisis, right?

The good news for the used cars salesman is that people will be seeking cars that they know they can afford and that they can pay cash for. Amazingly enough people are opting for less expensive used cars to pay cash for because they are fearful of banks. They donat want to get a loan.

This is band new for banks and new car salesman, but it could spark a competitive market for used cars salesman. The only hurdle to overcome is the reputation that has stained the used car sales industry for years. You know what I am talking about.

Honesty is the best approach to get skeptical people buy a used car. Tell the potential buyer the facts about the car and do not lie. This will only hurt your chances of the potential buyer finding out that you were lying and not going through with the sale.

Before people go to the used car lot they typically search the internet for answers to their questions. They look for car details and prices then compare them to what the car salesman says. If the car salesman is parallel to what the customer found on the internet then the customer will be more trusting to the sales man. This could result in a sale.

The relationship between the used car salesman and the potential buyer has to flow. They need to treat each other with respect. A lot of the relationship success depends on the ability of the car salesman to make the potential buyer feel comfortable.

A good used car salesman will be able to decipher the thoughts and intentions of a potential buyer. This skill is good to have because it will allow the car salesman to meet the needs of the buyer. Understanding the potential buyeras needs will also allow for a better business connection.

The good news is that there is training available. There are car salesman books with car salesman secrets available. With the proper training, you could increase sales. Even in the middle of a national economic crisis. This may be the best time for you sell your used cards.

Producing Hydrogen Gas For Car Usage

October 24, 2008

by Adrian Fletcher

Hydrogen gas is one of the most abundant elements on the planet. This makes it possible to produce the element in gas form using a wide variety of methods and raw materials providing possibly the most flexible fuel on the earth. In a traditional plant setting, producing hydrogen gas can begin with raw materials such as coal, water, natural gas, algae or biomass (natural organic composting materials).

Producing hydrogen gas from raw materials such as coal or biomass is called gasification, which requires heating the raw materials at a variety of extremely high temperatures, followed by a cooling, separation and purification process. The resulting hydrogen gas can then be used for any traditional fuel needs, or used as fuel to generate electricity. Coal gasification, when used to produce hydrogen gas as a fuel for generating electricity, produces much lower emissions than the traditional coal fueled power plant.

The least polluting and environmentally clean way to produce hydrogen gas involves extracting it from water. Several different methods are used to accomplish this, but electrolysis is the best method. Electrolysis produces hydrogen gas from water by using electric current to separate out the hydrogen from oxygen. The by-products of such a process are hydrogen and oxygen gas. The electricity used to power the method can be derived from renewable energy sources, such as solar or wind generators. Geothermal or hydro power can also provide the initial energy source. Nuclear-generated power may also be used for the electrolysis method.

The Thermochemical Water Splitting method of producing hydrogen gas separates hydrogen from water using a chemical reaction between water and certain chemicals at high temperatures. This is primary accomplished at nuclear plants. High-temperature Electrolysis is the same basic concept as fueled by electricity except this method uses the heat generated by nuclear power production to bring the water to the correct temperature instead of electrical current.

Steam Methane Reformation is the name of the technique used to extract hydrogen from natural gas. When natural gas is burned to create steam, a synthesis gas is produced that hydrogen is then extracted from. Ninety five percent of all the hydrogen used in the United States is produced this way; even though it is not as, “green,” as electrolysis.

Hydrogen can also be produced from algae or bacteria found in wastewater using a method called Photo-Biological Production. Using this method the algae are deprived of sulfur, which causes them to stop emitting oxygen and emit hydrogen. This method of producing hydrogen gas is currently receiving a great deal of attention because it is the greenest of all the methods utilizing both renewable and waste material by products as its primary ingredient or “feedstock”.

There are already many applications for hydrogen gas but given the great abundance of the element it seems that research into applications that use the gas will continue apace. In terms of using it as a fuel, it seems to have a greater future than fossil fuels that are finite and have worse consequences to the environment.

RV Wholesaler and Dealer

October 24, 2008

by Keith Windlor

Michael Cooper of Project 2000 Sales Seminars in Dallas, Texas once said that if you still feel like you have a good deal years after you have purchased a product, then chances are it was a good deal to begin with. While this quote is attributed to a specific individual, it can be applied to many different types of products.

In the recreational vehicle market, all too often, the dealer gets overlooked as the consumer simply focuses on the vehicle itself. But the type of dealer you do business with has a lot to do with the purchase in itself and can be even more important than the type of product that you are buying.

Recent studies have uncovered the fact that an RV vacation saves a family anywhere from 25% to 70% of the cost of other forms of vacations. Even though the initial investment is a rather large one, affordability is the key, and vacationing in an RV is a cost-effective way to enjoy time on the road. But just remember, finding the right recreational vehicle dealer always plays a huge role in the purchase.

It is important to understand how long the dealership has been doing business. While it might sound like common sense or even somewhat redundant, it is important, just like with any other business, to find out how long they have been in business and what kind of business that they have been doing. Understanding the reputation of the dealer and the individual is critical to understanding your chances of receiving a high level of service after this. Without knowing for certain how long they have been in business, it can be a mystery for customers making this type of purchase.

Secondly, you need to find a dealer that is more concerned about your budget and your needs than just seeing a dollar sign on your forehead. A dealer needs to be openly communicative as well. After all, you don’t want to feel like you’re dealing with a cold fish. The key to the whole scenario is that if you find a recreation vehicle dealer that you are comfortable with, it will make the purchase a much more pleasant experience.

Of course, you’ll want to deal with an RV wholesaler, such as Pedata RV dealership in Tucson Arizona. In the case of a wholesaler, they have the ability to order any type of product that you might require that they do not have in stock. One of the main differences between a wholesaler and a simple dealer is that the size of the inventory and availability of new products are much higher with a wholesaler.

They specialize in nationwide RV sales of quality new and pre-owned RV’s and they will save you money, therefore making a trip of any distance to their dealership well worth it.

Even if you’re located in another state, it doesn’t matter anymore. The fact that Pedata RV specializes in nationwide online RV sales is combined with the fact that their inventory is second to none, so even if you are sitting at the comfort of your desk, the online shopping is nothing short of enjoyable. Click on the link above and visit this recreational vehicle dealer today. It could save you as much as $10,000 in the process.

Is Water For Fuel Technology Dangerous For Your Car?

October 24, 2008

by Matthew J. Loop, DC

To answer this question in short, it’s very dangerous IF AND ONLY IF you don’t use your intelligence! Hydrogen or any fuel system using hydrogen is not something to play with! I’ve actually heard of some people that have tried to ignite hydrogen for fun… YIKES! “But I just wanted to see if it would light-up,” one guy explained. Of course it ignites, anyone home? Hydrogen will absolutely combust if you put fire of any type to it and boy will it spread quickly.

All through the “Run your Car on Water” conversion system I used, there were tons of warning scribbles for all areas that have the potential to injur you or blast your auto. When it came to things like toxic glues, etc.., the conversion manuals writer placed discreet warnings that are impossible to bypass.

Now, with that out of the way, Hydrogen-On-Demand technology is not anymore more dangerous than traditional car technologies involving fuel, cooling, etc. For example, everyone knows the radiator is necessary to cool-down the engine. Without it, your auto would easily go up in smoke!

But, if you open the radiator cap when it’s smoking hot, you will get burned, right? The problem is not in the radiator by itself, the problem is in lack of awareness and carelessness. There are simple safety rules and it’s necessary to understand and apply them.

When undertaking this easy conversion of your car to make it run on water, follow the extensive guidelines in the conversion manual. If you do this, it would be very hard to hurt yourself. I’ve never heard of or experienced any explosions or meltdowns. For safety, follow the step-by-step manual word for word!

Allow me to provide you a real-life example. In one of the chapters on installation, you will observe that you must keep the output hose at minimum four feet in length in order to prevent fire dangers. Never cut it short even if the device is closer than four feet. Sure, this may waste a couple bucks, but saves loads of trouble! Every precaution is highlighted in the extensive “Run your Car with Water” conversion manual so it’s very hard to miss.

It is especially important to note, Hydrogen-On-Demand (or Water Fuel) is not synonymous with stored Hydrogen! In a normal system, it uses all the hydrogen that is produced immediately. Nowhere is there a hydrogen storage tank to explode in case of a car accident. This water fuel technology has proven to be MUCH SAFER than hydrogen cars or propane / natural gas automobiles.

According to consumer protection experts and contrary to popular belief, it is not dangerous for your car. Many have noted that they have seen their gas mileage increase by as much as 110% after implementing this alternative hybrid conversion as well. Gas prices don’t phase me anymore and I actually feel free for a change.

How to Choose the Most Convenient Auto Club

October 24, 2008

by A Nutt

Choosing an auto club is a very important choice. It isn’t enough to simply choose whatever auto club program comes your way. That is because each auto club is different in that they have their own set of benefits and price ranges. It is important to explore all of these options in order to find the program that is the right program. The wrong program is going to provide you with things you don’t need and those things you do need won’t be available to you. To make sure this doesn’t happen to you, make sure you do your research.

The pros and cons

There are certain pros and cons that must be evaluated when choosing the most convenient auto club. This includes cost, whether or not roadside assistance is included, if travel discounts such as disney world tickets discounts are offered, and if any other discounts are provided to members. When it comes to cost, the cost of an auto club membership can exceed that of your regular roadside assistance. However, the auto club is going to provide you with more benefits.

As mentioned before, there are possible discounts included for when you travel. There are also discounts possibly included when you?re not traveling. For example, you can eat at a restaurant that honors your auto club card and receive 10% off of your meal total. You can also find discounts at retail outlets and outlets on the internet.

In regards to how the discounts work, a travel discount is going to provide you with savings on vacation packages, rental cars, hotels, cruises, and so much more. The discount is only relevant to traveling and nothing else. Other discounts include the restaurants and the retail outlets. A discount program is very important because that means you?re going to save some money while traveling. That is money that can be used to do something extra or eat at that extra special restaurant. Those discounts can also be the difference between staying in a 3 star hotel and staying in a 4 star hotel.

Roadside assistance

Saving money through auto club discounts is great, but roadside assistance is actually the most important part of an auto club membership. This is because roadside assistance is what is going to assist you if you?re stranded without help. It is very important to learn everything possible about the roadside assistance contained within auto club memberships. Here are the specifics that a good roadside assistance program should possess:

- Towing service ? This can pay for the cost of the auto club membership since one towing can cost around $75.

- Tire change service: This is important because a flat tire can occur at anytime. Roadside assistance will summon help to put on your spare tire for you.

- Lockout service: Everyone locks their keys in their car at one time or another. Having a locksmith get the keys out of your car can cost around $30 to $40. Having this assistance provided by your auto club?s roadside assistance is included in your membership.

- Gas and battery service: If you run out of gas, roadside assistance includes gas to be brought to you so that you can get to the next gas station and fill up. They should also give your battery a jump if your battery dies.

All of these services should be included in roadside assistance, so make sure that they are. These services will ensure that you do not become stranded in an unfamiliar or dangerous place.

Do your research

So make sure you do your research before choosing an auto club. Make sure that you can use all of the services provided and that you?re not paying for services you can?t use. Everyone needs to have an auto club membership. Everyone just doesn’t need the same package.

Automatic Car Alarms: How To Protect Your Car

October 24, 2008

by Brad Seabourne

A car alarm is as an audible security system that activates when it detects a possible break-in. But these can create a noisy disturbance which is annoying, often a false alarm and so, often ignored. There are far more technologically sophisticated vehicle security systems currently available.

To help reduce the billion-dollars of car theft, manufacturers have developed innovative technology with two-way communication remotes to warn you when your vehicle’s engine is started and notify you why the alarm was activated. The most common options in newer car security systems include glass break sensors, a two-way communication remote and passive arming.

You won’t hear an audible car alarm if you’re not near your vehicle. If your car is stolen while you’re on vacation, it may be many days before you know about it. Some car security systems will phone you or send you a text message if a break in occurs. A two-stage automatic car alarm can also tell you if the car’s engine is running, if the car is in motion, or if the car is stationary and has just been bumped into by someone.

If the vehicle is moving, you could communicate to the automatic car alarm to turn off the fuel pump, which will effectively stop the vehicle. Of course, if your car is on the back of a tow truck, stopping the engine will not prevent the theft. Many of the newer vehicle security systems are also equipped with GPS tracking devices to keep tabs on your vehicle’s location.

Preventing Car Jacking: Several models of automatic vehicle alarms include a car jacking mechanism that will enable you to turn off the gas with the press of a button. The activation switch is usually located near the seat belt release and pressing it will shut off the fuel and apply the brakes to stop the car. This feature gives you a useful option when you might otherwise be helpless. With this system, a person being car jacked can actively prevent the theft of their vehicle.

A lot of times these systems will notify police in the event that a car is hijacked. Some systems are programmed to quickly notify the authorities that something is going on and might be a life-threatening situation. It can be very dangerous when approaching a car thief in the middle of stealing your car, so it’s better to let police handle the situation. Once your car alarm notifies you with a text message or phone call that the car is being stolen, you can then tell the police who will already have a head start trying to catch the thief in the act.

Even Billionaires Can’t Afford A Car (Company)

October 23, 2008

by Bertel Schmitt

While billionaires defect Detroit, Chinese women buy new cars with 3 months of breastfeeding. By Bertel Schmitt, CEO Sinamotive Group (HK) Limited.

This is low. So low, this must be the bottom: Turn-around artists are turning their backs on Detroit’s auto makers. Billionaire Kirk Kerkorian sells his holdings in Ford Motor Co. , after his nearly one billion dollar investment (made when he thought Ford was way underpriced) lost two thirds of its value. Kerkorian had to put up 50 million shares of his MGM Mirage Casino to secure the credit line he used to buy into Ford. It’s panic city when supposedly recession-proof investments in CASINOS are pledged to prop up auto makers. (However, even casinos aren’t the sure bet they used to be. )

Cerberus, motivated (coaxed? threatened?) by JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Citigroup Inc., which hold a lot of the debt from Cerberus’s purchase of Chrysler from Germany’s DaimlerChrysler, is desperately seeking a suitor for Chrysler. The preferred partner in that arranged marriage is GM. Cerberus is said to be in talks with Nissan Motor Co., Renault SA, and anybody else who reads the prospectus. People in the know discount these as diversionary tactics to lend more urgency to the wedding with GM. The Chrysler/GM marriage has been praised in the mainstream media as the savior of the U.S. auto industry, as a “win-win” situation full of “synergy” potential. These words rank big in the Dictionary of Corporate Bullshit – people in the know for the exit when these words appear in a Powerpoint deck. Our friends over at <a href=”http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/editorial-general-motors-death-watch-205-the-world-according-to-tarp/” TheTruthAboutCars compare the Chrysler/GM shotgun wedding to the “Titanic rescuing the Lusitania.”

“Typical investors, and Cerberus is anything but typical, are running from the automotive industry,” Warren Feder , partner at Carl Marks Advisory Group LLC in New York, said. “It’s hard to see any upside with a degree of comfort, and you need that to make an equity investment.”

U.S.A.: Less than 11 million cars in 2009?

JPMorgan Chase & Co, who should have a vested (see above) interest in painting the picture of the auto industry in at least shades of rosy, just did the opposite. Himanshu Patel, an analyst at JPMorgan Chase & Co. wrote in a report on October 21, 2008 that U.S. auto deliveries could fall to an annual rate of 10 million vehicles this quarter and as low as 11 million next year. A few days before, J.D. Power and Associates still had estimated that 13.2 units would be sold in the U.S. for 2009. Patel’s 2009 estimate would be the lowest rate since 1982. The predictions get grislier by the day.

Next year, China could buy more cars than Americans

If Patel is right (and, see above, his firm has a lot of hard earned insider knowledge about the auto business,) and if China maintains a ? by Chinese standards ? rather sedate growth rate , come 2009, the Chinese auto market might be the same size or even larger than the U.S. The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, had targeted 10 million units for 2008, but with growth slowing in China, the Eastern Empire may not quite make it this year. Next year, unless the sky will fall, 11 million are entirely doable.

U.S. auto industry goes hungry. Babies too.

In the meantime, according to Bloomberg, the exit of Kerkorian, Cerberus & Co. “may leave the U.S. auto industry without new funding just as sales head to a 26-year low.”

Here comes a really disturbing bit of data: “Most consumers are worried about: ‘Will I have enough to put food on the table so my family can eat?’ Eduardo Castro-Wright, President and CEO of Wal-Mart’s U.S. operations told attendees of a luncheon sponsored by Town Hall Los Angeles. His stores see spikes of sales of baby formula when paychecks come in, “suggesting consumers are rushing to buy such necessities as soon as they have the cash,” Reuters reported. “As the economy worsens, Wal-Mart’s customers have increasingly shown signs of living paycheck to paycheck. Wal-Mart’s sales typically surge around pay periods at the beginning and middle of the month. Castro-Wright said that spike has become more pronounced as consumers’ budgets become more stressed.”

Buy a new car with 3 months of breastfeeding.

Contrast this to China. In the wake of the milk worries, affluent Chinese parents of babies more and more turn to “milk mothers” or “Nai Ma” who breast feed their new-born if the real mother doesn’t want or can. Baby formula? No, thank you. Or “bu, xie, xie,” as they say. They want the real thing for their one child only. In Beijing, a milk mother from the provinces can make between $300 and $1600 a month, with free room and board. A secretary in Beijing starts at around $300 a month, and must use the money to pay for food and shelter.

Back to topic #1: If a family can barely feed their babies, the likelihood of buying a new car is nil or worse. The Chinese milk mother can buy a new car for cash with three or 5 months earnings (if she opts for a better model.) The International Breastfeeding Committee of WHO/Unicef recommends breastfeeding for six months. Chinese hospitals recommend a year or more. After a year of watching TV and feeding the baby, the milk mother will have two or three cars to take home. Meanwhile, back in the U.S.A., parents need parts to keep their cars running, at least twice a month, for a trip to Wal-Mart.

Car Accident: What to Do After

October 23, 2008

by A Nutt

No one really likes to think about having an accident with their vehicle, but if you drive, you`re at risk for ending up in a crash, no matter how minor. Luckily, the majority of car accidents are fairly simple and end up only causing minimal damage to the vehicles, but it`s a good idea to know exactly what you should do in the case of a car accident.

1. Check if anyone is injured. Not all injuries will show up right away, but you definitely want to make sure that everyone involved in the car accident is alright. The first concern, if anyone is injured, is to get medical help. You`ll need to stop any bleeding and call 911 to make sure that help is on the way.

2. Divert traffic, if needed. Often, a car accident that immobilizes a vehicle will end up blocking traffic, so it`s a good idea to ensure that there is a way to divert traffic, either with a flare or traffic cones from an emergency kit, or having someone actually wave passing cars around the broken down vehicle. Hazard lights are also a must if they are still functioning.

3. Report the accident. Your car insurance will be useless if you can`t prove that the accident actually happened. So, an accident report should always be filed with the police even in minor fender benders that don`t seem that serious. You`ll need to make repairs and you definitely want the car insurance company to cover it, so make sure that everything is on paper and signed by the police. Stay on the scene until the accident report has been completely filled out.

4. Don`t admit anything. Immediately after an accident, it`s a good idea to keep your mouth shut as to who was at fault. It`s pretty easy to get angry, particularly if you weren`t the one at fault, but that can lead to a much nastier situation. To prevent problems, it`s best to wait until the police arrive. Also, admitting that you were at fault can cause problems down the road, so keep your mouth shut until you can speak with the police or your insurance company.

5. Write everything down. It`s a good idea to keep a pad of paper and a couple of pens in your glove box. This way you can write down all pertinent information that could be useful later on. This includes names of all parties involved, addresses, phone numbers and email, as well as the license plate number, car insurance information and VIN, since these can all be handy later on if the incident goes to court.

6. File an insurance claim. This should be done as quickly as possible after the accident. For minor accidents, you can even call from the scene and make sure that your claim is in as fast as possible. Not only does this mean you can shorten the amount of time that it takes for your claim to go through, you have the added benefit of police officers there to help you explain the situation and give them information.

Auto insurance is vital to have when comes to accidents. While no one wants to be in a car accident, that doesn`t mean you should ignore the worst case scenario. You could be in the position where you need some repairs on the vehicle, thanks to the accident, and rather than having the huge expenses come out of your pocket, your insurance company will take care of it, something that can be no end of relief when everything else is going downhill.

Increase Gas Mileage: 5 Tips To Save $10 Per Week At The Pump

October 22, 2008

by Jim Hofman

With gas hovering around the $3.40 per gallon mark, a tank of gas now costs the average driver a hefty $50. Take that figure to almost $100 if you own a truck. And with no end in sight to these high prices, drivers are searching for ways to squeeze every last drop out of a gallon of gas.

Of course, there are a number of common sense tips that relate to your driving habits. Combine errands, take public transportation if available, and car pooling are tried and true methods to lessen the bite on your wallet. But if you must drive (and that’s most of us), here are some lesser known tips to help you save a few dollars per week. These five tips are strategies you can use starting today to save as much as $10 per week. That’s over $500 per year!

Gas Saving Tip #1: Anticipate Traffic Conditions

More often than not, we’re in a hurry when we’re driving. After all, we want to get somewhere and get there quickly. However, rapid acceleration and frequent braking are huge gas guzzlers. Learn to anticipate traffic conditions. If you see a stop sign or red light ahead, take your foot off the gas and cruise to a stop. It will save gas as well as wear and tear on your brakes.

Tip #2: Inflate Your Tires Properly

Underinflated tires are one of the biggest causes of inefficient fuel economy. Studies show you can increase your gas mileage by 5% with properly inflated tires. It’s interesting to note that cold weather affects tire pressure the most. Check the air pressure in your tires monthly, especially in winter.

Tip #3: Idling Gobbles Gas

Sitting and idling wastes gas, so if you’re waiting in a traffic jam or sitting at a railroad crossing, turn off your engine. The same holds true for warming up your car. Warming it up for a few minutes is plenty. Anything beyond 5 minutes and you’re wasting fuel.

Tip #4: Change That Air Filter

Chances are, your air filter is dirty, and this wastes fuel, particularly on acceleration. Change your air filter every 6,000 miles and you’ll improve fuel economy by as much as 6-8%.

Tip #5: Put It In Cruise

If you’re a highway driver, use the cruise control function as much as possible. Driving at even, consistent speeds is much easier on fuel consumption.

These five simple gas saving tips will have you filling up less frequently and saving as much as $10 a week on your fuel costs.
