Do Extended Warranties Give You Peace On Earth?
July 30, 2008
Extended warranties apply to automobiles as well as other consumer products. They are normally not worth their cost. In fact, these “Extended Warranties” are not warranties at all. They are more properly called service contracts. These agreements are usually sold by car dealers for $1,000 to $3,000 with a new vehicle. Through a service contract, you pay an independent warranty company, an administrator, up front to pay for repairs for covered problems with your car in the future.
Car Dealers try to scare you into purchasing a service contract for your peace of mind after your factory warranty expires. This is because service contract sales are a huge profit maker for a car dealer. Typically, 50% or more of the selling price goes to the dealer as the seller. However, rarely do these “Extended Warranties” provide you with the protection that you are led to believe they have and would expect.
Usually these contracts don’t cover the following:
Lack of Maintenance Records? Failure to retain and produce records that the vehicle was maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s routine maintenance schedule. It is generally not enough to just maintain your vehicle. You must also be able to provide proof to the service contract administrator that the vehicle was maintained. No proof equals no coverage.
Wear and Tear? Normal wear items such as brake pads and shoes, gaskets, hoses, clutches, shock absorbers, and belts are typically excluded. These are the items that are expected to “wear out” through normal use of the vehicle and are the owner’s responsibility. These items are the ones most likely to require repair during the first six years of your car’s life.
Damage caused by a noncovered part. Your contract may cover the entire powertrain but if a non-covered parts such as a hose should break and this causes major engine damage, the contract will not cover the engine damage, because the hose was not covered part.
Tear Down Diagnosis? Under many service contracts, prior to servicing the car, the repair shop will require the consumer to agree to be responsible for the tear down charges if the failure is not due to a covered part. Some repair facilities will even require the consumer to pay a deposit before they will begin to diagnose the problem.
Limited repair options. You may have a hard time getting repairs on your vehicle, because the service contract limits where you can have the repairs done. The agreements sometimes severely limit who can work on your car by restricting the repairs to a certain number of places. On top of that, some service contract providers have a bad reputation in the service center won’t even honor the contract. They’ll ask you to pay for the repairs, and you have to try and get reimbursed for yourself.
With all of the above hurdles, it is hard to imagine receiving any peace of mind if you actually need to use your service contract. Additionally, with the quality of today’s vehicles the odds of needing a major repair during the first six years of your car’s life are slim. The bottom line is to save your money. In most situations you will be farther ahead monetarily and have greater peace of mind by saving your money for a rainy day.
Donate A Car
July 30, 2008
When you donate a car to charity, you are helping a person fulfill a need that they are unable to fulfill themselves. Most of us take for granted the convenience of our car, but for other people, a car is not only convenient but it may also help them to earn a living or provide kids with transportation to school. Besides having helped someone else, there are several other practical reasons why you should donate your car to charity.
Perhaps, the greatest benefit of giving your car away, as a car donation, is that you will be helping out a charitable organization that needs it. Many of the receivers of donated cars are non-profit organizations. These non-profit organizations often work to help those that are in need. For instance, many cities have local food pantries. Volunteers may not only need to collect food, but deliver the food to those who need it. Without a vehicle, volunteers may be unable to complete all of their tasks. Your car donation could prevent that from happening.
Furthermore, you do not have to spend the money to get your car towed to a lot. You do not have to place an ad in the paper and wait around for people to call or visit your less than perfect automobile. When it comes down to it, selling an old car requires effort. If you are in the position to part with your car and the money that you might make on selling it is minimal, you might just simply choose to donate it.
These goals include everything from orphans, AIDs Care, and medical relief. There are also focuses on computer literacy, those who are physically challenged, drug awareness, emergency relief, education and food programs. Finally, there are services for education as well as food programs.
There are several different ways to donate depending on which program you use, what state you are a citizen of, and how you need to give the car. The very first thing you must do is that which is listed above: determine what item you are going to donate. This of course will depend on your needs and goals.
Donating your car to charity will help someone and will also benefit you. Whether it is to save yourself the inconvenience of selling an old car or not, you can still feel good knowing that you have been generous.
Donations aren’t limited to only cars. Trucks, vans, RV’s, trailers and boats are also accepted as donations. If you have any questions about if your vehicle will be accepted as a donation it is best to call a registered charity.
Save Dollars With The Right Car Loan
July 30, 2008
Selling cars in today’s market is a tough game. Many car makers offer great discounts and supply competitive financing options. Take GMAC for example, they are usually able to supply a wide choice of plans and purchase arrangements to suit most prospective buyers.
Vehicle purchases are usually financed by the big banks or the credit arm of the company you decided to purchase from, for example GMAC, Ford Credit, Chrysler Credit Division, Toyota Credit etc. Apart from their payment plans, many of these companies also offer different leasing choices to suit almost any situation.
If time is an issue or if you prefer to shop from the comfort of your own home, then have a good look at financing your vehicle purchase on the web. There are many sites that offer these services making the rates and terms very competitive. In most cases, only a minimum of information is required such as:-
1. Your full name, current address and telephone number.
2. Your email id
3. Your birthdate
4. Your social security number
5. Where do you work? How long have you been there? Annual earnings and job title
6. Finally a person will need to provide details of the type of loan that they are after, how much they want to borrow and how long they want the loan to be for. Generally the loan period will be set out in months rather than years.
Today there are lots of companies now available online who will help a person to find the cheapest car loans possible and all of this will be based on the information that the person has provided to them. However what they can not promise is that the company that this person decides to go with will be honest in all their dealings with them. Therefore the best thing that they or you can do in this situation is to carry out a little research and find out as much about the loan institute you are interested in. Certainly using the internet has made this task much easier for many as no longer do you need to go from one office to the next or phone all those that you think are suitable, it is just a matter of filling in a form online and then waiting for the company to comeback with the results for you. Also using this way of getting car loans helps you to get approved much quicker.
Affordable Car Insurance For The First Time Buyer
July 30, 2008
You’ve just bought your first new car and now you need to get car insurance for that vehicle. You?re not sure what to do and you want to make sure you get the most affordable rate. You don?t want your lack of knowledge to cause you to have to pay more for your car insurance than what you have to; especially since you need to put very expensive fuel in that car to keep it running.
Fortunately, lack of knowledge doesn’t have to get in your way. There are some basic things you should know about buying car insurance for the first time. They are not difficult and you?ll find that the difference between knowing these things and not knowing these things means more money you can keep in your pocket or use to put fuel in your car. It doesn’t matter how you choose to use that money. What matters is that you?re not unnecessarily paying it on a car insurance premium.
How much you need
Chances are you have financed this car and the lender requires you to have full coverage insurance. This covers everything from bodily injury to collision in case you are in an auto accident with that car. Although the lender requires full coverage, you can have different degrees of coverage based on what you can afford.
For example:
- You can choose to go with a policy that has a $500 deductible. What this means is that this is the amount you have to pay to repair your car in case you are in a collision with someone or some thing. If the bill to fix the car is $3,000. The insurance will pay the remaining $2,500 after you have paid your $500 deductible.
That seems easy enough, doesn’t it? It is pretty simple. However, it is important for you to determine how much you can afford in regards to your deductible. You can actually save money on your premium each month if you can afford a higher deductible in case of an accident. The higher the deductible, the cheaper the premium, but you don?t want to go beyond what you can afford.
How to save
Once you’ve determined how much you need, this is the point in which you can work on saving money. You need to first comparison shop by checking with the different providers to see what types of premiums they have for the amount of coverage you need. You also need to ask them what is covered under the insurance, what the limitations are, when the coverage begins and ends, how much coverage you get, and how you file a claim.
Once you find good prospects, you can then ask them what types of car insurance discounts they offer. If you are a college student, they may offer a discount. They may even offer an additional discount for good grades. You can also do such things as open a life insurance policy with them to get a multi-line discount.
If you’re ever in doubt, contact your state?s department of insurance and ask them tips regarding how you can save on car insurance. They will gladly give you that information. You may even want to talk with the insurance providers regarding a discount if you allow them to automatically deduct your premium from your bank account each month. You have many different areas to compare and many discounts and policy alterations that can work to your advantage. Use them and see how much money you can save. You may actually be surprised how much money you can have in your pocket versus how much could possibly go into your insurance premium.
I Improve My Gas Mileage by 40% – Here’s How You Can Too!
July 29, 2008
I improve my gas mileage, without spending a dime, by up to 40%! I don’t spend any money to do it, but I end up effectively saving almost half on what I spend on gasoline!
The first step to improve gas mileage is to figure out just how many miles you are getting already. This is done with a simple gas mileage calculator. By dividing the number of miles driven by how many gallons used, you’ll come up with an accurate gas mileage.
Now I can improve my gas mileage. The first step is basic core maintenance. By simply checking might air filter and wail, I can boost my gas mileage by as much as 10%. Dirty oil makes the engine run hotter and harder, using more gas.
I can get an extra 5% on my mileage by making sure I have a clean air filter. If the air filter is dirty work clogged, less oxygen and goes to the engine, which means poor combustion. When the engine doesn’t run efficiently, it requires more gas to go the same distance.
A big boost to improve my gas mileage is by insuring my tires are properly inflated. Tires with low air pressure are harder to roll, again making the engine work harder to move the car. I make it a point to check my tire pressure every time I get a fill up.
Another way to improve my gas mileage is by lightening my load. Every 50 pounds I take out of the car translates to a 1% gas mileage improvement. This is a great excuse to finally clean out your trunk and backseat.
By far the biggest gas mileage improvement comes from changes in my driving. By scheduling my errands during less busy times of day, I avoid congestion, idling, in stop and go traffic. Peak drive times used up all lot of unnecessary gas.
I improve my gas mileage up to 40% simply by combining good car maintenance, common sense driving and a little bit of planning. Adding all of these together, means I am effectively paying 40% less for gas. That comes out to a big savings because I have to fill up my tank, much less frequently.
Run Your Car on Hydrogen – Fraud Or Oil Industry Cover-Up?
July 29, 2008
The high gas prices we have been experiencing this year have been almost impressively high. Shockingly so, actually. While analysts keep trying to find out when this storm of high gas prices is going to pass, you are left trying to figure out exactly what you can do to try to provide some relief to your budget. It appears the government is not going to provide any relief, and the oil companies clearly do not care about how much they are squeezing the every last cent from the middle class.
The government, on the other hand, tries their best not to get involved, though arguably their interference would be welcome here. While some people in Washington try to justify not providing any gas relief by claiming the market will write itself, the only way for that to be true is if the high gas prices are due to the market alone, and not due to price gauging by oil companies. As we all know, the oil industry is not exactly a respectable bunch.
If you stop and logically think about it, the only way gas prices are going to dip is if global demand for oil drops somehow. I mean world-wide demand would have to drop in a major way! Anything else will just make the situation worsen. But, what can we do to cut global demand? Obviously, it has to take a massive and immediate effort by all consumers to save gas. Three simple things you can do are changing the way you drive, purchase a hybrid car, or lastly… run your car on hydrogen technology. Hybrids are a bit lofty in price so I wouldn’t advise this option.
But there is, in fact, a way to power a car on hydrogen that already exists. It is known as HHO gas, and it has the potential to save you thousands of dollars each year by improving gas mileage two to three hundred percent. All you need to do is convert your standard car into a hydrogen based hybrid car using a simple machine.
The HHO technology does not use pure hydrogen. Rather, removes hydrogen particles from water, allowing you only the amount of hydrogen you need to improve your gas mileage, nothing more. What you are left with is a car that can safely run an engine fueled with hydrogen. A car that runs on water.
Once you have the system in place, all it takes is a little bit of water to run your car for several weeks. Pour it into the inexpensive machine that you have built yourself without needing any knowledge of complex engineering, and hook up the machine to your car battery so that you can start improving your gas mileage and creating HHO gas immediately.
This HHO gas goes into your car or truck’s combustion engine and adds a tremendous amount of extra miles to your car. In addition, this type of gas is far cleaner burning than the gasoline alternative, and once it is used it simply gets converted back into water.
By utilizing this new hydrogen technology, you can double or even triple your gas mileage, saving you thousands of dollars each year. And since the entire system costs less than the amount it takes to fill up your gas tank, all of these thousands of dollars go right into your pocket to do with as you please. It’s time to fight back against the oil industry – run your car on water as soon as you can.
Avis – Changing the Rental Car Industry
July 29, 2008
Today there are many car rental companies but in its infancy, rental car companies were a luxury and only a few companies existed. Agencies were located in large metropolitan cities, not at airports like they are today and there were few companies that branched out internationally. This changed with Avis Rent A Car.
Avis Rent A Car was one of the first rental car agencies and it started with an aggressive business plan which proved successful. Avis has maintained its status as an industry leader and, in many ways, has kept an edge on the competition. Here is a short history of Avis and how they revolutionized the car rental industry.
Small Beginnings
Warren Avis opened Avis Rent A Car in Detroit, Michigan at the Willow Run Airport in 1946. With less than $100,000 he opened the first car rental business located at an airport; a risky move with a considerable amount of money at the time. He wanted to grow fast while providing excellent customer service. Warren Avis’ marketing plan was successful and he soon opened a rental office at the Miami Airport. He decided to expand his business internationally and soon started selling Avis franchises in Canada, Mexico and Europe. His company was making money and expanding rapidly.
Avis Sells
Warren Avis had created a successful business based on a revolutionary idea. He sold his business in 1954 to a Boston businessman for $8 million; a staggering profit in less than 10 years. The Avis name had established itself in the US and worldwide and become a respected company. Therefore, the Avis name remained and even after changing hands many times, continues on even today.
Growing Fast
Avis Rent A Car opened up its European headquarters in Britain in 1960. In just a short time it had become an international company owned by a large holding company. The holding company soon branched out and developed additional business interests.
In 1963 Avis adopted the slogan “We Try Harder” and developed an ad campaign around it. It proved to be such a successful slogan that it continues on today and has become one of the most recognized in the industry.
Avis Today
Now Avis Rent A Car is one of the most widely known and respected rental agencies in the world. From the meager beginnings of a rental agency at one airport to a multi-million dollar company, Avis has proved that its strategy has worked and continues to do so.
Next time you rent a car, rent with one of the most recognized and successful rental companies. To book a car, call their reservation department or book online. Regardless if you need a car in New York City or Alicante, Spain, Avis has you covered. You’ll see why they have been so successful and why customers keep coming back.
The Basic Concepts Of Air Intake Charge
July 29, 2008
Do you have an air intake on your shopping list? If you aren’t sure as to how each of these products functions, don’t hesitate as to which is the better choice. There are many different styles to pick from. Among the most popular styles of air intake charge kits are the Short Ram, Long Ram Cold, and the Ram.
The difference between the short and long ram systems are that the short ram systems has a shorter tube to bring in cold air. On average they are not equally efficient when they are compared side by side and examined to the long ram cold air intake system. Since they will pull in warmer, less dense air, considering how closer it is to the engine block. Most importantly, they still beat most other kinds of stock air intake systems.
Greater horsepower and better gas mileage is increased when the vehicle’s cylinders are also increased with a long ram cold system. Removing the stock air boxes then replacing them with smooth flowing mandrel bent tubing will increase its overall efficiency. The speed of air that is moving towards the engine and the volume of air will rise too.
The air is cooler and denser upon going into the engine with this version of air intake. Air that is the furthest from the engines is the air being pulled into the intake because it’s cooler air. Allowing more air into the air intake also increases the efficiency of any filters.
Ram Systems utilizes outdoor air to force induction inside automobile engines. The ram air kit has the ability to be viewed on any vehicle which has a scoop design in it’s hood. The intake receives its necessary airflow from tubing that is connected to the hood scoop. As the car’s speed increases, the intake air velocity increases.
The overall mechanism generates good, dense, cold and high velocity air for your engine due to its high speeds for the engine, thus resulting in the creation of extra horsepower. By using induction of force, some of the ram systems by Long are capitalized. The placement of a vehicle’s air filter needs to be in an area where the high speed air is directed over the filter.
If you are wondering how you could get the best air intake system and the differences between the brands and designs here are some tips:
1. When determining which air intake system to buy consider the dyno proven results. Next, you will be presented with an example of its proper use with your vehicle.
2. Many believe the common misconception that bigger is always better when dealing with air intake systems, but do not play the fool and fall for this. Circumstances determine the truth of this.

July 29, 2008
I am always on the lookout for the latest fuel technologies. If it helps the atmosphere and saves me some money then… I unquestionably want to know about it!
Naturally I approached Water4Gas with some caution mainly thanks to its sales page. It gave the impression to be full of hype and, honestly, too good to be true.
However, to say we were pleasantly amazed would be an understatement. First of all, a little about the knowledge behind this…
Can you beleive that Water4Gas uses a “censored” technology that is almost 90 years old and simplifies it. The resulting energy known as HHO is 3 times more potent than gasoline. The device separates water from gasoline by using your car’s battery.
The solution offered here is practically the only alternative to “water automobiles” which have yet to be successfully tested, let alone brought to market…
You will receive a top notch kit which shows you how to build the device with everyday objects for under $60.
Here are some of the direct benefits you will see:
Double your mileage – water4gas test results have shown mileage increases from 50% to as much as 107% on a Toyota!
Good bye to emissions – the brown gas or HHO that the system produces turns straight back into water! This is excellent news for the environment…
Lower your engine temperature – Need we say more, huge advantage with the Water4Gas system!
Enjoy a smoother and quieter engine – your engine will no longer rattle and the gearshifts will cease to clank.
Increased life expectancy of your engine – protects moving parts and so will last much longer…
You’re about to discover the secrets that oil companies DON’T want you to know. However, this technology has been rapidly growing in popularity, and the truth is they can’t keep everyone’s mouth shut.

Chasing the Right SUV Cover
July 29, 2008
Like most people we take vacations or plan long trips away from home. But with the price of gas many Americans are parking their SUVs and driving smaller vehicles. Remember though, whether we stay at home or on a trip some place, it is important to protect our vehicles when they are not in use.
When looking for a quality best car cover, remember not all outdoor car covers are the same. They can range from a loose fitting tarp, which isn’t very good, to higher quality semi and custom car covers.
Let’s look at your SUV for example. Unless you have it parked under a roof for protection, all kinds of nasty things can happen to it in the course of time. UV rays from the sun can damage the finish and interior, bird droppings and bug splats can play havoc with the paint, wind storms can cause nicks and dents on the top and sides of your vehicle causing an unsightly look. Whew!
What has been a surprise for car cover companies is the increase of sales for SUV car covers. With the increase of gasoline prices, many people are turning to parking and storage of their SUV vehicles waiting for the price of fuel to go down, thus the increase sales of SUV covers to ensure the vehicle’s protection.
As more and more SUVs sit parked in people’s yard, car cover companies have seen an increase in sales for truck covers, car covers, and SUV covers as the price of fuel increases. The SUV covers help to keep their vehicle’s value and at the same time provide the needed exterior finish protection.
SUV covers do more than just cover your vehicle, you need to ask what are your needs and what kind of climate do I live in?
*Ask yourself do I need protection from the sun’s harmful rays? If you live in Florida you need a SUV cover offering that kind of protection from the hot sun.
*Do I need protection from the rain? If you live in the Northwest like Seattle and have no garage to store you SUV, a waterproof SUV cover would be the answer.
*Is snow protection what I need? Maybe the breathable car cover is the answer to allow protection against winter rust and rain.
The right SUV cover can provide extra layers of protection against things that bump against a parked vehicle or fall from a tree like a limb or branch.
So buy the best car cover you can afford for your vehicles, whether it be a truck cover, car cover, or a SUV cover. It will provide the care and protection plus the peace of mind you need while you are away enjoying your vacation or storing your SUV until the price of gas goes down.
